The heart and soul of any performance car is its engine. The Lancer Evolution’s raw power is delivered through its advanced 2.0-litre MIVEC engine that features an all-aluminum block, dual overhead cams and an innovative turbocharger. The intercooled twin-scroll turbocharger incorporates a titanium turbine wheel that boosts power to 291 HP @ 6,500 RPM and 300 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4,000 RPM.
TWIN CLUTCH SPORTRONIC® SHIFT TRANSMISSION (TC-SST)
Perfected from our decades-long racing heritage, there’s nothing quite as satisfying as shifting through the gears of the GSR’s short-throw 5-speed manual transmission. Or choose the Twin Clutch Sportronic® Shift Transmission (TC-SST) in the MR, and you’ll get the connectivity and efficiency of a manual gearbox along with remarkably smooth, blink-of-an-eye-quick automatic shifting. Choose from Normal, Sport or S-Sport to select automated shift points that match your driving style, or take full control using the sequential shifter or magnesium paddle shifters. TOP-SHELF SUSPENSION
To produce incredible handling, the Lancer Evolution adopts a proven front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link suspension layout, enhanced by world-renowned Bilstein® shock absorbers and Eibach® coil springs all around to control wheel movement with absolute precision. Front and rear stabilizer bars, a front strut brace, extensive use of aluminum and rigid attachment to the car’s structure ensure excellent on-road handling characteristics, improved ride comfort and very sure-footed cornering performance. Available on GSR and standard on MR.
BREMBO® BRAKING SYSTEM
With over 30 years of racing competition experience, Brembo® is the only brand worthy to feature on the Lancer Evolution. To rein in the power of the Lancer Evolution, the front sports 350 mm ventilated discs with 4-piston callipers, while the rear houses 330 mm discs with opposed 2-piston callipers. Braking is enhanced even further for the Lancer Evolution MR with 350 mm ventilated 2-piece rotors at the front for better heat dissipation. Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) makes sure that each wheel has the maximum possible braking power available at all times.
