Acura PERFORMANCE
2.4-liter Engine
The standard TLX engine is anything but standard. The aluminum block, direct-injected 2.4-liter inline-four powerplant delivers 206 high-revving horsepower, 182 lb. ft. of torque (both SAE net) and best-in-class thrills per mile. Its light weight helps make handling nimble and fuel economy ratings notable.
Agile Handling Assist
Take a corner like a professional driver. Agile Handling Assist® uses components of the Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) system to further enhance handling capabilities. While VSA® brakes individual wheels to avoid oversteer or understeer, Agile Handing Assist® uses active braking— usually on an inside wheel—to help the driver smoothly trace the desired line through a curve.
8-Speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission)
It is the newest and most sophisticated Acura transmission. Originally developed for racing, the dual-clutch design shifts faster, smoother and with greater efficiency than conventional automatic transmissions. Drivers will find it a perfect fit for the high-revving inline-four.
Steering System
The finely tuned Motion-Adaptive Electronic Power Steering system enhances driver-vehicle synergy. With Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) standard on all TLX models, drivers can even select the type of steering they want to experience.
Smooth & Quiet Ride
From engine to suspension to body structure, at every stage of design and development, Acura engineers worked to make the high-performing TLX a quiet, comfortable road companion.
Integrated Dynamic System
Gone are the days when a dynamic driving experience was limited to Drive, 1st, 2nd and possibly 3rd. With the new Integrated Dynamic System (IDS), TLX owners not only enjoy an 8-speed dual-clutch or 9-speed automatic transmission, but four unique driving modes: Normal, Economy, Sport and Sport+. One for every mood, you might say.
2016 TLX APPEARANCE
Multi-View Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines
The rear camera produces a center screen display whenever “Reverse” is engaged. Three separate views allow the driver to select one to best serve the situation. Pressing “Enter” on the center panel cycles through the camera options.
Jewel Eye® LED Headlights
Stunning, highly illuminating Jewel Eye® LED headlights are standard equipment on all TLX models. Five LEDs per side provide a whiter, brighter beam, use less energy and last significantly longer than HID or traditional halogen headlights.
Keyless Access System
Approach the TLX with the key in your pocket, and the Keyless Access System will unlock the doors, set your climate, seat and music preferences and let you start the car with the push of a button.
Acura TLX COMFORT
On Demand Multi-Use Display
Leading the way in audio and information technology has its advantages—and its challenges. As the number of features continued to increase, Acura designers foresaw a very crowded center panel. The solution is an intuitive touchscreen called On Demand Multi-Use Display™ (ODMD™)—a system that consolidates the controls drivers need at any given moment. What could have been more than 40 buttons has been simplified to nine.
Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink
Check in with the office and never take your eyes off the road. The Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® system works with most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones and lets you initiate and receive calls using the TLX audio system.
USB/iPod Integration
Take your digital music library along for the ride. The USB connection interfaces with your Apple® iPod® or other USB mass-storage devices, like flash drives containing MP3, WMA or AAC music files.
Front Seats
Front seat design focuses not only on comfort but performance as well. For example, both front seats feature pronounced side bolsters, providing lateral support for hard cornering and ample comfort for long road trips.
2016 Acura TLX SAFETY & WARRANTY
4-year/50,000-mile limited warranty
Seat Belts and Airbags
Seat belts are the first line of defense in a collision. Hence, all TLX seating positions have 3-point belts and head restraints. The front seats also have a load-limiting tensioner system. Each airbag features a highly sophisticated deployment system.
Body Structure Design
To enhance occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions, the TLX features the next generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure
Braking Systems
TLX disc brakes are complimented by several sophisticated electronic systems that enhance stopping performance in almost any circumstance.
