4.4-Liter TwinPower Turbo V8 Engine, 445 hp
The 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 has been updated with Valvetronic, BMW's throttle-less intake system. It works in concert with High Precision Direct Injection and twin turbochargers, nestled on top of the engine, to deliver 445 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
8-Speed Sport Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters
Provides extremely fast synchronized shifting. By increasing the number of gears to eight, the transmission provides a more efficient shifting sequence and improved fuel economy. Includes Adaptive Transmission Control (ATC) with Sport and Manual shift modes and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. When in Sport mode, shifts can be generated via the console-mounted shift lever or the paddle shifters. The close spacing of the gear ratios of the optional 8-speed sport automatic transmission enables maximum use of the optimum rev range, significantly lowering fuel consumption and enhancing shift comfort.

Brake Energy Regeneration
To supply a battery with electrical energy, the generator (alternator) is usually driven using engine power, which requires fuel. With Brake Energy Regeneration, the generator produces electricity when the driver brakes or takes a foot off the accelerator. Kinetic energy that was previously unharnessed is transformed into electrical energy, then fed into the battery. In this way, electricity is generated without consuming fuel.

Adaptive LED Headlights
LED technology is used exclusively for both high and low beams, as well as in all four Corona headlight rings. At speeds of up to 35 mph, LED cornering lights automatically light up the side of the road when turning. At faster speeds, the Adaptive Headlights feature automatically swivels the headlights to illuminate the road around bends, based on your steering wheel movements. LED lights also include the High Beam Assistant feature, which uses a sensor to automatically switch the high-beam headlights on and off depending on the traffic situation.
Active Blind Spot Detection
Looking forward isn't just a metaphor for our insatiable desire to innovate. It's also quite literal. The available Active Blind Spot Detection system helps eliminate blind spots and actually allows drivers to avoid collisions when changing lanes, literally keeping your gaze straight ahead. Using radar sensors at the rear of the vehicle to monitor the traffic behind it, this system alerts drivers if a vehicle is in their blind spot by displaying a light on their side-view mirror housings. And on the chance the driver does not notice the warning and signals to indicate changing lanes, the light on the mirror housing begins to flash and the steering wheel vibrates.
Full Color Head-Up Display
The BMW Full Color Head-Up Display projects key information onto the windshield that appears directly in the driver’s field of vision, minimizing distractions. Responsive to light conditions around them, the projections can be easily adjusted using the iDrive controller. Depending on the vehicle specification, the display not only shows current speed, but speed limits, navigation instructions, entertainment information, and various warning messages. And now, with a touch of a button on the steering wheel, you can also momentarily display current song list and change stations.
Active Driving Assistant
BMW’s exclusive Active Driving Assistant system consists of multiple features, including Lane Departure Warning, Frontal Collision Warning, City Collision Mitigation, and Pedestrian Warning.
