4.4-Liter, TwinPower Turbo V8 Engine, 445 hp
The 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 has been updated with Valvetronic, BMW's throttle-less intake system. It works in conjunction with High Precision Direct Injection and twin turbochargers, nestled on top of the engine, to deliver 445 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque.
Driving Dynamics Control
Driving Dynamics Control is available at the push of a button, and allows drivers of the BMW 7 Series to select a mode that best reflects their preferred driving style. Whether it’s Comfort, Comfort, Sport or Sport, each setting adjusts the suspension, steering, transmission shift points, and dynamic stability control, for either higher levels of comfort or sportier on-road dynamics.
Brake Energy Regeneration
To supply a battery with electrical energy, the generator (alternator) is usually driven using engine power, which requires fuel. With Brake Energy Regeneration, the generator produces electricity when the driver brakes or takes a foot off the accelerator.
Kinetic energy that was previously unharnessed is then transformed into electrical energy and fed directly into the battery. This way, additional power is created without unnecessary consumption.
Auto Start-Stop
Red lights, traffic jams, train crossings. In everyday driving situations, there are countless instances when the engine is idling and unnecessarily burning fuel.
Instead, the driver can opt to use the Auto Start-Stop function, which automatically switches off the engine as the driver engages the brake, and as the vehicle remains stationary. However, it’s only activated when energy is not needed for anything else—such as the air-conditioning system or rear window defroster—and as soon as the driver's foot leaves the brake pedal, the engine starts up again. In practice, it’s both a seamless and comfortable way to save fuel.

Active Blind Spot Detection
Looking forward isn't just a metaphor for our desire to innovate. It's also quite literal. The available Active Blind Spot Detection system identifies vehicles in areas which are difficult to see from the driver’s seat, helping to avoid collisions when changing lanes and making it easier to keep your eyes focused on the road ahead. Using radar sensors at the rear of the vehicle, which monitor the traffic behind it, this system alerts drivers if another car is in their blind spot by displaying a light on their side-view mirror housings. And if the driver doesn’t notice the warning and signals to indicate changing lanes, the light on the mirror housing will begin to flash as the steering wheel vibrates.
BMW Night Vision
In the BMW 7 Series, Night Vision Pedestrian Detection technology highlights animals and humans, and alerts the driver accordingly. In dangerous situations, a yellow pre-alert appears, while in very critical situations an acute-approach red warning symbol will appear as an acoustic warning sounds.
Active Cruise Control
