Every Santa Fe engine is mated to Hyundai's 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC®. Plus all models have the Active ECO System. With the push of a button, it improves the performance of the transmission to help you get more miles out of every gallon of gas.
Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM)
Drivers enjoy a greater sense of control and satisfaction courtesy of Hyundai’s innovative, Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM). Select one of its three operating modes—Comfort, Normal and a retuned and enhanced Sport mode—and adapt the Santa Fe’s steering characteristics to a range of driving preferences.
V6 Power For Added Response
The 3.3L V6 engine provides potent response. It creates an effortless flow of power, torque and surprising fuel efficiency using advancements that include Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) and Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI).
2016 Santa Fe Sport APPEARANCE
Hands-free Smart Liftgate With Auto Open
This available feature automatically opens the rear liftgate when you stand within three feet behind the vehicle with the key for more than three seconds. Unlike other vehicles, there’s no need to kick or shuffle your feet to engage. The handy height-adjustable function allows users to stop the liftgate at various heights to avoid low overhangs. And with more than 70 cubic feet of cargo space you’ve got the room to bring along all of the essential gear you need for your next adventure.
Aerodynamics
The best designs offer tangible benefits that go beyond their good looks. Which is clearly the case with the Santa Fe Sport. The advantage: A more aerodynamic design that can help improve MPG.
As The Wheels Turn
When it comes to wheels you have plenty of choices. The standard 17-inch alloy wheels will generate plenty of traction, and compliments. The 18-inch alloy wheels are standard on the 2.0T model and if you’re ready to step things up, check out the available 19-inch alloy wheels.
Hyundai Santa Fe Sport COMFORT
Ample Storage Space
From its brilliantly convenient dashboard bin and hidden cargo-area storage compartment, to its 8 easily accessible bottle and cupholders—everywhere you look, thoughtful storage is right at hand.
Open To New Experiences
Research has shown that sunlight and fresh air are good for you. This available panoramic sunroof gives you more of both compared to regular-sized sunroofs. Drive healthy.
Proximity Key Entry With Push Button Start
Approach your Santa Fe Sport with the available Proximity Key in your pocket and enjoy the ultimate convenience. No more fumbling with the key when you’ve got a key that enables your car to recognize you. Unlock or lock your car, start the engine with the push of a button and go.
Advanced Audio
Use your power and connections to get the most out of every drive. The available Infinity® Logic 7® Surround Sound Audio System has 550 watts with 12 speakers. There are also inputs that let you connect an iPod®, iPhone® or other music sources via USB auxiliary input jacks. And Bluetooth® is standard, so you can stream music or make and receive calls while staying focused on the road.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
Emergency braking maneuvers can cause wheels to lock up and skid, resulting in a loss of steering control exactly when you need it most. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps prevent the possibility of wheel lockup under hard braking, and rapidly pulses the brakes to help you retain steering control as you come to a stop.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
One of the elements in Santa Fe Sport’s Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, Electronic Stability Control uses sensors in the steering system and at each wheel to compare where you want to go with where the car is heading. If a difference between the two is detected, Electronic Stability Control slows the appropriate wheel to redirect the car and help keep you on course.
Lane Change Assist
The advantage of this available safety-technology feature is clear. Lane Change Assist measures the closing speed of an approaching vehicle in the adjacent lane to determine if changing lanes is safe and if it’s not, gives the driver an audible and visual warning.
Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross-traffic Alert
This available radar-based system helps detect when a vehicle is in the driver’s blind spot and provides both an audible and a visual alert to help keep you aware as you move down the road. When reverse gear is selected, Rear Cross-traffic Alert helps identify and warn the driver of vehicles approaching from the side.
