Maserati GranTurismo PERFORMANCE
ZF Automatic Gearbox Controlled By The Exclusive MC Auto Shift Software
The ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox with hydraulic torque converter guarantees smooth, rapid shifts and a comfortable ride, with no reduction in performance from a manual transmission. The automatic transmission of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is controlled by the MC Auto Shift software, with rev limiter override, double declutch and high-performance start function. There are five operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and I.C.E.
Suspension Features The Sport Skyhook Electronic Control System
The double wishbone suspension of the GranTurismo Sport features a new setup controlled by the Sport Skyhook System, which has been specially developed for this version. Pressing the dashboard Sport button improves handling and makes the car’s suspension even more precise and responsive without affecting its ability to deal with rough road surfaces, since it continuously adapts to ground conditions.
The Driver Sets The Output Level
The V8 engine of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport develops 454 HP at 7,000 rpm, and changes its personality to match the situation. Its subdued but authoritative note while driving in an urban setting crescendos to a thrilling roar when power is applied on the open road. The choice is in the driver’s hands: output level can be enhanced by pressing the Sport button, which actuates valves in the exhaust system that allows easier breathing of the engine. Most of the 384 lb-ft of torque is available over a wide range of engine speeds, for smooth and instant power delivery on demand.
Mechanics Ahead Of Their Time
The 4.7-liter V8 engine of the GranTurismo Sport is remarkable for its smooth running, impressive performance and proven reliability. It is an engine that demonstrates the mechanical sophistication that has always been a Maserati hallmark, united with a number of engineering solutions such as the special DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) finish used for the tappets and camshaft lobes, an innovation that significantly reduces friction.
2016 GranTurismo APPEARANCE
Shadow Line Trim
At the rear of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport, a number of details make the car instantly recognizable. Immediately apparent are the taillights, with a special burnished finish that accentuates the effect of the 96 LEDs that provide illumination. Below, the oval exhaust tips of the tailpipes are black, complementing the standard Shadow Line trim. The Chrome Line option, with its wealth of elegant chrome-plated finishes, is available on request.
Airflow
The Maserati GranTurismo Sport features pronounced sideskirts, standard in body color and available in black on request. These aerodynamic features emphasize the exceptionally dynamic lines while also playing an important role in airflow management which is the outcome of a specific wind-tunnel design project, where they have the crucial task of conveying the flow of air to the rear wheels in the most efficient manner possible: an example of form serving function.
An Aggressive And Aerodynamic Front End
The front end of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is an attention-grabber. On either side of the distinctive Maserati oval radiator grille are two large, innovative air intakes that not only improve airflow and the cooling of the front brakes, but also act as a stylistic junction between the central grille and the new headlight assemblies. There is also a new aerodynamic splitter in the center, below the grille.
2016 Maserati GranTurismo COMFORT
Fine Italian Leather Combines With Soft Alcantara® In Many Areas Of The Interior
The sporting temperament of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport is emphasized by a stylish combination of Alcantara® and traditional Italian Premium leather in many areas of the interior, along with anthracite-grey Dark Chrome trim or EcoChrome trim—a shade that recalls the gleam of molten metal—on the dashboard, interior door panels and quarter panels.
Supportive, Contoured Seats
On the Maserati GranTurismo Sport, the redesigned front seats with integrated headrest offer maximum comfort and support during spirited driving. The distinctive sport design features a bezel beneath the headrest, while in combination with the leather, the central part of the seat and seat back can be upholstered in perforated Alcantara® (standard on the version with MC Shift electro-actuated gearbox).
Trofeo Design Steering Wheel
When you place your hands on the redesigned steering wheel of the Maserati GranTurismo Sport, you will appreciate the contoured rim, longer Trofeo Design gearshift paddles and the new grip with a distinctive profile. All these features provide maximum comfort and are tailored to the needs of a sporty driving style. The steering wheel is offered in three different finishes: all leather, leather and Alcantara, or leather and carbon fiber.
RPM Counter Takes Center Stage
The instrument panel is highly legible in all lighting conditions and an rpm counter with digital readout clearly displays exactly the right time for gear shifts. Another important feature for sport-oriented drivers is the lightweight pedal board in perforated aluminium.
2016 Maserati GranTurismo SAFETY & REVIEWS
POWERTRAIN COVERAGE 4 YEARS/50,000 MILES
Maserati North America Inc. provides each new car with a transferable four year or 50,000 mile,
whichever comes first, new car limited warranty.
Maserati North America Inc also offers Maserati Roadside Assistance throughout the new car
limited warranty period on all new Maserati vehicles sold in the USA and Canada.
Well-Balanced Weights Guarantee Outstanding Handling
The Maserati GranTurismo is a thoroughbred sports car with exciting potential that can be enjoyed in safety, delivering unforgettable thrills. Behind all this is the exceptionally rigid frame and the unusual layout of the wishbone suspension, not to mention the perfect weight distribution: 49% of the weight rests on the front axle and the other 51% on the rear.
The MSP Electronic System Monitors The Car's Stability At Every Moment
The Maserati Stability Program (MSP) is an advanced electronic system which, in the event of skidding, reduces torque and triggers the brakes to stabilize the car in just a few milliseconds. When the Sport button is pressed, the action of the MSP is toned down to allow a more sporty driving style that doesn’t, however, compromise on safety. The trigger threshold is shifted upward, and the system acts mainly on the brakes without cutting engine power.
