Both standard on the 2018 A4, Audi pre sense® basic intervenes by helping secure the vehicle during unusual or emergency maneuvers, while Audi pre sense® city helps detect vehicles and pedestrians at speeds of up to 52 mph, increasing drivers’ awareness of surroundings and helping prevent accidents.
Rear cross traffic assist
Also included with available Audi side assist with Audi pre sense® rear, this feature uses rear sensors to help scan the area behind the vehicle and sides while a rear view camera helps provide additional visibility when backing up, as in reversing out of a perpendicular parking space. In critical situations, a warning tone and brake jolt can be applied to help prompt the driver to stop the vehicle.
Traffic sign recognition
Available with the Prestige trim, Traffic sign recognition is a camera-based system that helps detect speed limit signs and displays the information in the available Audi virtual cockpit. For example, current detected speed limits are shown in the instrument display.
