3.5L Ti-VCT V6 Engine
Taurus SHO is equipped with a standard 3.5L EcoBoost® engine. It combines two different technologies – turbocharging and direct injection. It generates 365 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque across a wide 1,500-5,000 rpm range.
6-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission Sport Mode with Shifter Button Activation
Taurus SE, SEL and Limited models feature the 6-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Shifter Button Activation. This feature lets you override automatic operation and enjoy the performance feel of a manual with control over gear selection. Taurus SHO has race-inspired, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for changing gears easily and quickly.
Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control
Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control, standard on all Taurus models, are two components of AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control (ESC). Torque Vectoring Control uses the braking system to imitate the effect of a torque vectoring differential. In particular, when accelerating through corners, it applies braking to the front inside wheel, so more of the engine torque goes to the outside wheel, which has more grip. Curve Control will slow your vehicle when it senses that you’re going too fast into a particular curve. Employing throttle reduction and four-wheel braking intervention, it’s always active in helping you maintain control.
MyKey®
Important safety features stay activated, such as the Belt-Minder® warning chime, until the safety belts are buckled. The audio system remains muted. MyKey® can be set to place limits on maximum speed and audio volume. Low-fuel warnings are displayed in the message center, followed by a chime when the fuel level reaches an eighth of a tank.

Adaptive Cruise Control
Available Adaptive Cruise Control is a step beyond conventional cruise control. When its sensors detect traffic slowing, your vehicle also slows down. After traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed. Available Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support will alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A red warning bar flashes on the windshield. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will pre-charge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness.
BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert
The available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert uses radar in the rear quarter panels to detect a vehicle entering your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the sideview mirror. Cross-Traffic Alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, it provides an audible warning, a visual display in either sideview mirror and a signal in the message cente®r. BLIS technology is standard on Taurus Limited and SHO models.
