Ford Escape PERFORMANCE
Three-Engine Lineup
Choose the Escape model that matches your driving style: the Escape S and 168-hp 2.5L I-4 with intake variable cam timing (iVCT); the SE or SEL, powered by the 1.5L EcoBoost® for balanced power and efficiency;* and the 245-hp** 2.0L EcoBoost with Twin-Scroll technology that gathers exhaust from pairs of cylinders in alternating sequence, maximizing pulse energy to the turbine wheel for quick torque delivery. The six-speed SelectShift® transmission offers the convenience of an automatic or the sporty feel of a manual. Plus, EcoBoost engines feature Auto Start-Stop Technology that can help lower fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving when your vehicle comes to a stop. The engine shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator.
Maximum 3,500-lb. Towing Capacity
Escape Titanium has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. when equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost® Class II Trailer Tow Package. Trailer sway control technology and an auxiliary transmission oil cooler are included in the package when equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine. When trailer sway is detected, the system automatically takes measures, such as applying precise braking or reduced engine torque, to help keep both the vehicle and the trailer under control.39
Intelligent 4WD System
The available Intelligent 4WD System continuously monitors traction and road conditions every 16 milliseconds. It can transfer torque from front wheels to rear wheels as needed to ensure a precise blend of handling and traction at all times.
Curve Control and Torque Vectoring Control
Curve Control can sense if you’re going too fast and slow the vehicle down using throttle reduction and anti-lock braking. Once you’re into the curve, G-forces tend to transfer more traction to the outside tires than to the inside ones. Torque Vectoring Control enhances this traction by transferring torque to the wheels that have the most grip, reducing understeer and forcing the front end to hug the inside of the curve.39

Ford Escape COMFORT
Panoramic Vista Roof®
The available panoramic Vista Roof® features a large forward panel that tilts up or opens fully, plus a fixed rear skylight. So whether you’re sitting up front or in back, the panoramic Vista Roof lets in the natural light.
Ergonomic Steering Wheel with Available Heat Feature
The steering wheel is ergonomically designed for enhanced comfort. And even on the coldest days your hands will be warm, thanks to the available heated steering wheel.
60/40 Split-Fold-Flat Rear Seat Backs
Fold both rear seat backs for a flat load surface and 68 cu. ft. of total cargo space. Or fold down either of the 60/40 split rear seat backs and still save room for a passenger. If you’re carrying items such as luggage, leave both seat backs up and you’ll have 34 cu. ft. of cargo space.
Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start
Simply have the available Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, then touch the door handle. Once inside, press the brake pedal and then the start button. Shift into gear and go. Standard on SE, SEL and Titanium.

Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support
The Ford Safe and Smart™ Package includes adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with brake support. You can select the speed and distance you want to maintain from the vehicle in front of you. When traffic ahead slows down, your vehicle automatically slows down, and later resumes the preset speed when traffic clears.10 Forward collision warning with brake support can alert you to a potential collision with the vehicle ahead. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will precharge and increase sensitivity, providing full responsiveness when you do brake.10
BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert
The Ford Safe and Smart™ Package includes BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert. This feature uses radar to identify a vehicle detected in your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the appropriate exterior mirror. Cross-traffic alert also uses radar to detect a vehicle passing behind when you’re slowly backing out of a driveway or parking place, but only when a trailer is not connected to the vehicle. If crosstraffic sensors detect a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, you will be audibly and visually alerted.10
10. Driver Assist Features (BLIS, cross traffic alert, collision warning, active park assist, adaptive cruise control, and rear view camera) are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle.
39. Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It's always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.
