Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Coupe PERFORMANCE
AMG Performance Exhaust System
In addition to the name of its own master engine builder under the hood, every AMG GT has another unmistakable signature: its powerful sound, from its snarling startup growl to its assertive throaty rumble as it unleashes its power. Computer-controlled vanes near the four round tailpipes also let the driver escalate its sound at the push of a button, while the system's free-flow design delivers an audible celebration of power with every upshift, downshift and rev.
AMG DYNAMIC SELECT
The AMG GT lets its driver dial in the car's performance character with the flip of a switch on the console. AMG DYNAMIC SELECT offers Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes, plus a new Slippery modes, as well as an Individual mode you can configure a la carte. Each mode includes settings for the engine and throttle response, shift programming, ESP, suspension, exhaust sound, ECO Start/Stop system and more. In addition, adjacent push buttons let you adjust each setting on its own while in any mode.
AMG Sport Suspension
The AMG Sport Suspension employs racing-derived double wishbones all four wheels. All of the suspension arms and the hub carriers are forged aluminum, maximizing strength and rigidity while minimizing unsprung weight for more precise handling response. Upper and lower wishbones are parallel, and each rear shock absorber is mounted at its lower point to the hub carrier, for exceptionally direct response with minimal vibration. The result is highly balanced and predictable handling, even at the limits.
Active Aerodynamics with AIRPANEL
While every AMG GT has undergone extensive refinement in the wind tunnel, the GT R features several aero-enhancements to even further improve its roadholding and cool its high-potency running gear. The wider front splitter increases downforce, while AIRPANEL active curtains in the outer intakes of the front apron can reduce drag, or open to channel air to the wheel arches. An active carbon fiber underbody fairing can lower 1.6 inches at high speeds to draw the car more firmly toward the road.
