Triple-boosted, for a torrent of torque
Two advanced engines team twin-scroll turbocharging with 48-volt EQ Boost that can add 184 lb-ft of electric torque. A 429-hp turbo inline-6 further boosted by an electric compressor rushes the GLE 53 to 60 in 5.2 seconds. The handcrafted 603-hp AMG biturbo V8 thrusts the GLE 63 S to 60 in 3.7 seconds.

AMG DYNAMIC SELECT lets you fine-tune your GLE's performance via a console control or the available steering-wheel AMG DRIVE UNIT. Seven programs, from Comfort, Sport+ and Sand to your own Individual mode, can vary throttle mapping, shifting, suspension and more. The GLE 63 S adds a track-ready RACE mode.
Surround sound, from a tailpipe symphony
The GLE 53's AMG Sport Exhaust accentuates the AMG soundtrack under revs, yet stays melodious when you're cruising. Computer-controlled flaps on the AMG Performance Exhaust, standard on the GLE 63 and a GLE 53 option, let you conduct the orchestra yourself via AMG DYNAMIC SELECT or direct actuation.

Offered in up to four styles, the AMG Performance steering wheel's contoured side grips invite your ideal grip, keeping the shift paddles and clever touchpads nearby. Standard on the GLE 63 S and a GLE 53 option, the AMG DRIVE UNIT's color display buttons put key performance settings on the wheel.

A groundbreaking concept in automobile cockpit control, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience advances to the forefront of innovation. MBUX integrates digital in-dash displays including a touchscreen, touch-sensitive controls, Bluetooth® hands-free and audio streaming, and an available industry-advancing voice control system that responds to your everyday speaking voice and phrasing of commands. You can set up multiple user profiles of favored settings, and groups of settings can be saved as themes or moods.
Optional MBUX Interior Assistant
An overhead camera and lasers lets MBUX respond to the driver's and front passenger's hand and arm movements. Reach for the touchscreen or console touchpad, and the display can highlight likely desired features, such as the passenger's seat comfort settings. Key features can also be controlled by simple hand gestures, like pointing toward the rearview mirror to turn on a map light. For each front seat, a programmable favorite feature can be activated by pointing forward with two fingers.
Heated front seats
Electrically heated front seats quickly take the chill out of even the coldest day. Three levels of warming automatically step down after several minutes to the lowest setting.
Optional Ventilated front seats
Heated and ventilated seats are a luxury you'll soon consider a necessity. Three levels of heating and cooling ventilation are offered. By gently circulating air through perforations in the seat and backrest, the seats help keep you cooler and your clothes drier during warmer months. On cold or damp days, using both the ventilation and heating features together can circulate the seat heating more quickly, to help keep you warm and dry.
Optional Multicontour front seats with massage
Pneumatically adjustable lumbar and side supports offer custom-tailored comfort. Eight massage programs can soothe and rejuvenate your back and shoulders, including two spa-like "hot stone" massages, plus an "active workout" program to help strengthen your back and leg muscles.

Active Brake Assist
Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.
Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call service
If an air bag deploys, your car can automatically initiate a call to Mercedes-Benz Emergency Services, transmitting your GPS-determined location and helpful vehicle information on your behalf. Trained experts are on call 24/7 to help summon local emergency responders to your location. You can also press the SOS button in the vehicle anytime you need emergency assistance, or see someone else who does. This vital service is provided for as long as you own the vehicle, no matter who's driving.
ATTENTION ASSIST
The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.
Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
A Mercedes-Benz innovation, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC cruise control uses radar-based technology to adapt your set speed in response to the flow of traffic ahead. If traffic slows down, it can reduce your speed automatically until your path clears. If the vehicle ahead slows to a stop, it can brake to a full halt. When traffic moves, you can resume with just a tap of the accelerator or cruise control button, or it can resume automatically if the stop is under 30 seconds.
