Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV PERFORMANCE
Turbo torque: Boost to go.
The advanced, efficient 2.0L inline-4 engine's twin-scroll turbo pumps up power to 221 hp. All 258 lb-ft of torque is on tap from just 1,800 rpm, for quicker takeoffs, passing, merging and climbing.
Range of talents: 8 speeds, 4 modes.
The clever dual-clutch 8-speed can be an easygoing automatic or paddle-shifted fun. DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes let you tune the drivetrain, steering feel, and available adaptive suspension to suit, too.
4MATIC: Confident and capable.
Available 4MATIC® all-wheel drive can vary the front/rear torque split to optimize stability, handling and efficiency based on available grip at each wheel. Its rugged engineering includes a loose-surface mode, Downhill Speed Regulation, an off-road graphic display, and more.
ECO Start/Stop system.
An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.
8G-DCT 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The 8-speed transmission combines the sporty response of a manual, the easygoing refinement of an automatic, and exceptional efficiency. Dual clutches offer quicker gear changes than a human can shift a traditional manual gearbox, while three overdrive ratios boost highway efficiency. The ECO, Sport and Comfort modes of DYNAMIC SELECT let you favor fully automatic efficiency and comfort, intensified response, or shift-for-yourself excitement via the steering wheel-mounted shift paddles.
Front-wheel drive.
The GLB front-wheel drive system is an ideal match for its nimble handling and efficient packaging. Impeccable calibration of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Electronic Traction System (ETS) enhances tire bite under hard acceleration, while equal-length driveshafts virtually eliminate undesirable torque steer.
4-wheel independent suspension.
The 4-wheel independent suspension features a 4-link front axle and further evolution of the standard-setting 5-arm multilink rear design. Both employ numerous lightweight, highly rigid forged aluminum components.
Torque Vectoring Brake.
Standard Torque Vectoring Brake technology provides additional control and precision in turns via targeted rear-wheel braking. If the vehicle's Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) detects understeer while cornering, the system applies the brake to the inside rear wheel, temporarily shifting torque distribution in favor of the outside wheel. This can help the vehicle to gently pivot in compensation, putting it on a line of travel, or vector, better suited to the turn.

2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV SAFETY & WARRANTY
MB Limited Warranty
All new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are protected by our New Vehicle Limited Warranty, covering defects in material or workmanship for 48-months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. For added protection, the Mercedes-Benz Extended Limited Warranty offers continued peace of mind with prolonged coverage tailored to your needs.
Virtual eyes, actual benefits.
Next-gen options help de-stress driving: Tap a turn signal to make a lane change. Adaptive cruise can help steer, slow for exits, or stop-and-go in traffic. Sensors can even "cover your ears" before a crash.
Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call service.
If an air bag deploys, your car can automatically initiate a call to Mercedes-Benz Emergency Services, transmitting your GPS-determined location and helpful vehicle information on your behalf. Trained experts are on call 24/7 to help summon local emergency responders to your location. You can also press the SOS button in the vehicle anytime you need emergency assistance, or see someone else who does. This vital service is provided for as long as you own the vehicle, no matter who's driving.
Optional Dashcam.
A camera in the windshield can record activity occurring in front of the vehicle, and let you save it for playback using your own compatible USB flash drive. Potentially useful for documenting an accident or other event, the 1,280x720-pixel video with a 30-Hz frame rate can also include vehicle speed and the time of day. Playback can be viewed on the car's multimedia display or on your own computer via your USB flash drive.
7 air bags.
An advanced system of seven air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. Standard are dual two-stage front air bags, combined thorax/pelvic bags for the driver and front passenger, a driver's knee air bag, plus side curtain air bags for the first and second seating rows.
Body structure.
A system of interconnected elements work together to help protect the occupants in a collision. High-strength/low-alloy (HSLA), ultra-high-strength, and press-hardened sheet steel are used in critical areas such as the roof pillars, floor and roof crossmembers, door beams and various body reinforcements. Advanced front and rear crumple zones deform progressively to help absorb the energy of an impact, while the front bulkhead helps channel some impact forces under, over, and around the cabin.
Rear-window wiper with auto-on in Reverse.
Whenever the front wipers are on and you shift to Reverse, the GLB's rear-window wiper automatically sweeps to clear your view out the back. The wiper can also be switched on to its intermittent setting at any time by the driver, and includes a washer.
Front foglamps.
Projector-type front foglamps help enhance the driver's vision in inclement weather. They also add a sporty styling touch to the sculpted front air dam.
Optional Surround View System.
The Surround View System uses cameras in all four directions to compose a single, live overhead view of your immediate surroundings. Displayed on the in-dash screen during low-speed maneuvers, it can help you avoid obstacles as you negotiate tight spaces, whether you're moving forward or backing up. Available in Parking Assistance Package.
