Handcrafted AMG 2.0L inline-4 turbo with hybrid assist
The first "43" engine handcrafted in the AMG "One man, one engine" tradition applies technology from Formula 1® racing to advance performance with efficiency. A pioneering electric exhaust-gas turbocharger and Integrated Starter-Generator team with advanced fuel injection, friction reduction and multi-level engine cooling. The result is V8-worthy output of 402 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque from a compact, lightweight and decidedly modern 2.0L 4-cylinder engine.
Electric exhaust-gas turbocharger
A series production first, the C 43's electric exhaust-gas turbocharger is derived from the race-winning technology of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1® team. A thin 48-volt electric motor, integrated directly on the shaft between the turbine and compressor wheels, can accelerate the compressor before the exhaust-gas flow takes over. The innovative 175,000-peak-rpm turbo helps maintain boost pressure and improve engine response from idle to high rpm, even when the driver lifts off the gas.
AMG DRIVE UNIT
A pair of round controls on the steering wheel lets you adjust performance settings quickly and easily, with integrated color displays to confirm your selection. The left pod can be assigned to functions such as the Manual shift mode, the damping modes of AMG RIDE CONTROL, or the 3-stage ESP®. The right button selects and displays the driving mode of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT.
AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive
AMG has developed a version of 4MATIC® that redefines the performance potential of all-wheel drive. A 31:69 base front/rear torque split to assure an ideal balance of power delivery under hard acceleration and coming out of corners. In virtually every driving condition, AMG Performance 4MATIC enhances grip and acceleration while preserving agility and driving fun.

Power tilt/sliding tinted glass sunroof
At the touch of a button, the tinted glass sunroof tilts up at the rear for ventilation, or slides open for a breezy view of the sky. An express feature fully opens or closes the roof with a single touch, and a manual sliding sunshade helps block out unwanted sunlight.

Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX)
The Mercedes-Benz User Experience is a breakthrough in automobile cockpit control that keeps advancing. MBUX integrates digital displays including a touchscreen, touch-sensitive controls, and an intuitive, intelligent voice control system that can respond to your natural voice, learn your habits, and grow smarter over time. Added personalization lets you set up seven user profiles of settings in the car or from your phone, and can pre-position the driver seat and mirrors based on your stature.
40/20/40-split folding rear seats
The rear seatbacks fold down in a 40/20/40 split, offering a variety of cargo and passenger configurations. You can also fold the center section independently, to fit longer items like skis between two rear passengers. The release handles are in the trunk, so they're conveniently located where you'll need them, and can be kept out of reach simply by valet-locking the trunk.
Dual-zone automatic climate control
Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 0.0002-inch from entering the cabin.
USB-C charging port
A state-of-the-art USB-C connector in the center console allows plug-and-play enjoyment from your compatible devices as well as fast charging of your phone. Providing 15W maximum combined power, it's also suitable for data transfer with the vehicle. A 12V power outlet is also provided at the front of the console.
Voice Control with Natural Language Understanding
Memorizing fixed voice commands is a thing of the past: Artificial intelligence makes the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) a future you can live today. Vehicle functions for a wide range of features respond to natural, conversational phrases. For example, say "I'm cold" and MBUX can adjust the climate control. It can even learn new phrases over time, and respond with more flexible and friendly language as well. Additional microphones help MBUX distinguish whether the driver or front passenger is speaking.
Electronic trunk closer
For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open the trunk via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the underside of the trunk lid and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the lid if it detects an obstruction while closing, and the opening height can be easily set to a lower limit for low garages.

7 air bags
An advanced system of 7 air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. Standard are dual two-stage front air bags and combined thorax/pelvic bags for the driver and front passenger, plus a knee air bag for the driver, and side curtain air bags for both seating rows.
Brake Assist (BAS)
Brake Assist (BAS®) can sense emergency braking via the speed at which the driver presses the brake pedal and immediately apply maximum available power boost. Brake Assist can potentially reduce the overall stopping distance by eliminating the delay caused by a common human tendency not to brake hard enough, soon enough. Letting up on the brake pedal releases Brake Assist.
Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
This safety breakthrough first introduced by Mercedes-Benz continually monitors your driving inputs and the vehicle's motion to help keep it going in your intended direction, especially in corners and during evasive maneuvers. If it detects wheelspin, severe understeer (plowing), or oversteer (fishtailing), ESP® can brake individual wheels and reduce engine power to help bring the vehicle under control.
ATTENTION ASSIST
The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST® can continuously monitor up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.
