Our AWD technology with Instant Traction™ gives you an edge by increasing driving stability and traction – on all road surfaces and in all weathers. As conditions change, wheels with the best grip get the most power to optimize your drive. Under normal conditions, practically all the power is distributed to the front wheels to minimize fuel consumption without compromising on stability. And when needed, up to 50% of the engine's power can be distributed to the rear wheels. At a standstill, full all-wheel drive is always engaged to prepare for maximum traction. This also facilitates take-off in slippery conditions or if you, for example, are pulling a boat trailer up a ramp.

Hill Descent Control
Hill Descent Control offers controlled descents on steep, rough and slippery roads. When activated, it helps you descend smoothly from 8 to 40 km/h (5 to 25 mph) using engine braking or, if needed, by braking each wheel individually – you just have to steer. You can brake anytime or, if you prefer, accelerate to adapt the speed. The smooth accelerator characteristics of Hill Descent Control also make it easier to drive off when towing a heavy trailer or a boat up a ramp. It also works in reverse gear.

Our panoramic roof adds a superb experience of airiness and light for everyone inside your Volvo. For ventilation, the front section opens at the push of a button. A power-operated sunshade in perforated textile reduces glare on sunny days while maintaining the airy feel inside the cabin. The sunshade opens from the rear so your rear-seat passengers can enjoy the ambiance of light while the driver and the front-seat passenger are still shaded. Power tailgate
Open or close the tailgate conveniently from the outside using the remote key. Or via buttons on the tailgate or the dashboard. Sensors around the tailgate opening help enhance safety when closing the tailgate. The power tailgate can also be programmed to open to a lower height than its maximum, very useful if you park in a garage with limited roof height. For extra convenience when loading, integrated illumination lights up the area under the tailgate. And to make it easy to open the tailgate when your hands are full, you can add a comfortable hands-free opening and closing function – just move your foot under the rear bumper and the tailgate opens and closes at your convenience.

Lane Keeping Aid
Lane Keeping Aid adds convenience to highway driving. If you get too close or unintentionally cross a lane marking, it will gently steer your vehicle back into the lane or alert you with vibrations in the steering wheel. Constantly monitoring your position on the road, Lane Keeping Aid provides smooth support at speeds between 65 km/h and 200 km/h (40 mph and 124 mph). When you intentionally cross a lane marking and use the indicator, the system will not intervene. Lane Keeping Aid is standard.
Post-impact braking
To help reduce the risk of more damage and injury after a collision, such as colliding with other vehicles or people, your Volvo brakes automatically when the seat belt tensioners or an airbag are activated.
Adaptive Cruise Control
This feature adapts speed to help you maintain an appropriate distance to slower vehicles.
