Hill Descent Control
Hill Descent Control offers controlled descents on steep, rough and slippery roads. When activated, it helps you descend smoothly from 8 to 40 km/h (5 to 25 mph) using engine braking or, if needed, by braking each wheel individually – you just have to steer. You can brake anytime or, if you prefer, accelerate to adapt the speed. The smooth accelerator characteristics of Hill Descent Control also make it easier to drive off when towing a heavy trailer or a boat up a ramp. It also works in reverse gear.

A Volvo world first, this advanced technology traps these extremely small particles in a filter and can stop up to 95% from entering the passenger compartment. The levels of PM 2.5 particles in the passenger compartment are constantly monitored by an optical sensor and shown in the center display. You can also compare the PM 2.5 levels in the passenger compartment with those outside the vehicle. Using the Volvo Cars app, you can even pre-clean the air in the passenger compartment and access information on interior air quality before entering the vehicle.

Collision Mitigation support, rear
Rear Collision Warning keeps you one step ahead of the traffic. By activating all the indicator lights at a rapid rate, fast-approaching vehicles are alerted if they drive too close and a collision is imminent. If a collision can't be avoided, the front seat belts will be tensioned just before impact to help keep passengers in the correct position. The brakes will also activate if your vehicle is at a standstill to further reduce the risk of whiplash injury. Rear Collision Warning with braking at standstill is part of our driver awareness technologies.
BLIS™ and Cross Traffic Alert
This feature can support in heavy traffic and when reversing. When a vehicle enters your blind spot or approaches fast from behind, you can be alerted via a light in the door mirrors. Should you nonetheless drift into the path of another vehicle, your car can help steer you back into your lane. To help make parking safer, it can also alert you on crossing traffic when you reverse out of a parking space with limited rear visibility. It can even brake for you if there’s a risk of collision.
Lane Keeping Aid
Lane Keeping Aid adds convenience to highway driving. If you get too close or unintentionally cross a lane marking, it will gently steer your vehicle back into the lane or alert you with vibrations in the steering wheel. Constantly monitoring your position on the road, Lane Keeping Aid provides smooth support at speeds between 65 km/h and 200 km/h (40 mph and 124 mph). When you intentionally cross a lane marking and use the indicator, the system will not intervene. Lane Keeping Aid is standard.
