Rear 200kW permanently synchronous electric motor
The CLA 250+ with EQ Technology is powered by an advanced 200kW electric motor that can send up to 268 hp and 247-ft of torque to the rear wheels with exceptional efficiency and smoothness. Mounted at the rear axle, the "permanently excited synchronous motor" (PSM) employs magnets that use nearly no rare earth elements.
Advanced 85-kWh EV battery
Advanced battery technology offers high energy density, with energy content of 85 kWh in just 1,100 lbs of weight. Mounted low in the floor to enhance handling, the battery is managed by innovative software, developed by Mercedes-Benz, that can be updated over the air, without a dealer visit. Its 800V architecture is designed for particularly fast charging.
DYNAMIC SELECT
A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. Three modes (Comfort, ECO and Sport) alter the drivetrain response and steering effort. A fourth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own.
Electric Drive Unit with 2-speed transmission
Mounted at the rear axle is an Electric Drive Unit that incorporates the electric motor and a two-speed transmission. Based on driving situation and the driver-chosen mode of DYNAMIC SELECT, the transmission shifts fully automatically between an 11:1 ratio for acceleration and a 5:1 ratio for smooth high-speed power and highway efficiency.

17-inch lightweight wheels w/removable aero covers
Lightweight, black-painted wheels wear removable aero covers with five wide spokes in a silver machined effect. Range-optimized Extended Mobility summer tires are fitted as well, to offer the longest driving range of any CLA wheel/tire combination. Staggered sizing pairs wider rear wheels for enhanced launch grip with front tires optimized for crisp steering feedback.
Panorama roof
Offering all five passengers sweeping skyward views, this transparent roof treatment features a fixed panel of heat-insulating, infrared-reflecting tinted glass.

Steering-wheel Touch Control Buttons
Four smartphone-like pads on the multifunction steering wheel offer convenient control of countless cockpit features. The left touchpads operate the menu screens in the instrument panel and the cruise control. The right touchpads operate the MBUX multimedia system, including audio and phone controls.
Front trunk w/cargo dividers
The CLA is the first modern Mercedes-Benz to feature a front trunk, often called a "frunk." It offers approximately 1.4 cubic feet of additional cargo space and features organizing dividers to help smaller items stay in place.
Multiple USB-C ports
A total of four USB-C ports are provided, all with fast-charging capability up to 100W. Two ports at the front of the console are also suitable for data transfer with the vehicle. Two ports are included for the rear cabin as well.

Evasive Steering Function
This pioneering system can activate to support you in an evasive maneuver, especially if it recognizes a vehicle, cyclist or pedestrian in your path. The system can provide a calculated steering force to assist you in executing the maneuver and straightening the vehicle in the adjacent lane afterwards.
Lane Keeping Function
This function can help detect unintended drifting off-course, and alert you by vibrating the steering wheel plus an in-dash visual warning. It can also help guide the car back if it senses that you're crossing a lane marking, or getting dangerously close to the road edge or another vehicle. It won't intervene if you use a turn signal or steer deliberately.
Front center air bag
An innovative center air bag is integrated within the right side of the driver's seatback. In the event of a sufficiently severe side impact, it can deploy between the driver and front passenger to help reduce the risk of injury to either of them.
Reversing camera
For a better view of what's behind your vehicle when reversing, a high-resolution camera can display a live view on the central in-dash screen. Steering-dependent active guidelines on the screen can help you back into a parking space, and you can select between wide-angle and even wider 180° views.
